Zus Coffee seeks PVL q’finals berth

08/11 08:01

ZUS Coffee is competing against Choco Mucho in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur, with ZUS Coffee aiming for its sixth consecutive victory to secure a quarterfinal berth. The Thunderbelles, undefeated after sweeping the first phase of the preliminaries, anticipate a tough challenge from Choco Mucho, who must win all remaining matches to stay in contention for the top eight.

ZUS Coffee, led by Coach Jerry Yee, has shown strong focus, poise, and a killer instinct throughout the tournament, coming off a notable comeback win over Akari. In contrast, Choco Mucho enters the match with a 2-3 record and renewed urgency after losing their last two games, including a straight-sets defeat to Capital1, making this a critical opportunity to revive their campaign.

In an earlier match at 4 p.m., PLDT faces Galeries Tower, with PLDT holding a 4-1 record and likely to clinch a quarterfinal spot. Galeries Tower, winless at 0-5 and having not won a set in the conference, is focused on improving their performance and potentially spoiling PLDT's chances of immediate advancement.

The scheduled games for Saturday include Galeries Tower vs PLDT at 4 p.m. and ZUS Coffee vs Choco Mucho at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, NU and UST are set to begin the Shakey’s title showdown in a separate event.
