PBA: Rafi Reavis joins Converge for his 23rd season
Former Magnolia veteran Rafi Reavis has officially signed a contract to play for the Converge FiberXers in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), marking his 23rd season in the league. The announcement was made by the FiberXers on Saturday, following Reavis's appearance at the team's tune-up games, where he was spotted observing the matches.
Reavis, who is 48 years old, became a free agent after spending more than a decade with the Magnolia Hotshots. This move to Converge ties him with Robert Jaworski for the second-most seasons in a PBA career, with Asi Taulava holding the record at 24 seasons played from 1999 to 2023 across multiple teams.
Reavis has been part of the PBA since 2002, having played for Coca-Cola, Barangay Ginebra, and Purefoods (which became Magnolia). His career in the Philippines began even earlier, in 2000, when he played for two seasons with the San Juan Knights in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. The signing coincided with Converge's 114-99 victory over San Miguel Beer in a tune-up game held at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong City.
In addition to Reavis, the FiberXers also signed rookie Kobe Monje, a product of Letran who was selected in the second round of the PBA Draft, further strengthening their roster for the upcoming season.
