Marco Neppe joins Ligue 1 club as sporting director

25/09 10:06

Paris FC announced on Wednesday that Marco Neppe will take over as sporting director starting in October. This appointment marks a key change in the club's management structure.

Marco Neppe ended his playing career in 2014 and subsequently joined Bayern Munich as a scout. Over a decade, he advanced to the position of technical director before departing by mutual agreement earlier this year. The 39-year-old most recently worked as an advisor for MLS side Toronto FC until March.

Neppe will replace François Ferracci as sporting director from next week. Paris FC, a newly promoted Ligue 1 club, recently strengthened its squad by acquiring goalkeeper Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt in the final days of the transfer window.

The club is partly owned by Red Bull, which holds a 10.6% minority stake and is monitored by Jurgen Klopp, Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer. Paris FC is managed by the Arnaud family, who lead Forbes' list of wealthiest individuals in France. Club president Pierre Ferracci highlighted Neppe's extensive experience, while owner Antoine Arnault emphasized the Red Bull partnership and expectations for Neppe to consolidate the club's Ligue 1 presence and support future ambitions.
