LeBron James rallies Lakers to comeback victory over Suns in NBA
The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, narrowly defeated the Phoenix Suns 116-114 in a dramatic finish on Sunday night. James secured the lead with two free throws in the final three seconds and then blocked Grayson Allen's potential game-winning three-pointer to seal the victory.
The Lakers built a significant 95-77 lead in the second half after holding the Suns scoreless for over eight minutes with a 24-0 run. However, the Suns mounted a comeback, briefly taking a 114-113 lead with 12.2 seconds left after a Dillon Brooks three-pointer. Brooks was subsequently ejected for receiving a second technical foul during his celebration.
After missing a free throw, LeBron James drew a foul on a three-point attempt with three seconds remaining. He made two of the three free throws to put the Lakers back in front. On the final possession, James blocked Allen's three-point attempt, and a subsequent free throw by Marcus Smart extended the final margin to two points.
Key performers for the Lakers included Luka Doncic with a game-high 29 points, LeBron James with 26 points, and Deandre Ayton with a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double. Despite poor three-point shooting (7 for 37), the Lakers managed the win. For the Suns, Devin Booker scored 27 points, supported by Mark Williams with 20 and Dillon Brooks with 18 before his ejection.
