Isaiah Thomas Wants To Play 'At Least' One More NBA Season, A Few Teams Interested
Longtime NBA guard Isaiah Thomas has expressed his readiness to return to the league, stating that his body feels good and he is maintaining game shape. He revealed that several teams have shown interest in signing him, though he is taking a patient approach, staying in contact with them and playing it by ear while ensuring he remains prepared.
Thomas, who is 36 years old, emphasized that he is not ready to retire and believes he has at least one more season left in him. He last played in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns in 2024, but prior to that, he had stints with multiple teams on 10-day contracts and spent time in the G League, following a full-season deal with the Washington Wizards in 2019.
Despite dealing with serious injuries in the past, Thomas has averaged 17.5 points per game over his career, with his most notable performances coming during his time with the Boston Celtics. He remains confident in his ability to play at a high level, describing his current physical condition as "amazing" and noting that he still has a few more years left to contribute on the court.
While Thomas is focused on securing another NBA opportunity, he acknowledged that he has other options off the court if a return does not materialize. However, his primary goal is to join a team and contribute immediately, as he feels he is healthy and capable of making an impact.
